Blogging consistently is, in a word,…tough. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a while after following so many for so long. I really got inspired by all the great topics and posts that others were coming up with. It seemed like a space that I could join.
I knew it would be hard and that consistent content is key. But life gets in the way. Life is unpredictable. And things will always pop up. I could already tell that blogging has not been my priority, which is a damn shame.
Now that I’ve realized the blogger struggle, it’s time to make a plan. A plan to do better, be better, feel better at blogging. These are steps I want to take and maybe it’ll help you too.
Let’s be honest, having a full time job takes up a huge chunk of a person’s weekdays. And a horrible commute (it used to be 2 hours each way for me! Eeek!) cuts into that time even more. I barely had time to eat dinner before it was already bedtime. But to be consistent, you need to have a routine and a specific time every week or every day if you can that you sit down to work on your blog.
Some days you could be full of ideas and others…not so much. Take down ideas as soon as you think of them, whether in a notebook or just on your phone. Take the time you set aside to turn those ideas into real content (like I’m trying to do right now!) and also to think about images or what you could add to take your content to the next level.
SCHEDULE IT IN
Once you’ve created content, it’s time to schedule it in to your blog. Making sure you have enough content to last you so you never go without it! As I’ve seen around the blogosphere, regular blog posts are key.
And if in need, ask for help! Have family and/or friends keep you accountable. Or just ask for help or input with content or how a piece could be better. If you’re stuck in a rut, having a differing opinion might just kick you out of it.
I’m still learning about this blogging world, so did you guys have any tips that keep you consistent? Feel free to share! I’d love to hear them.
Thanks for reading!
